Crowdfunding is a means for Stevens students, faculty and staff to spread the word about their projects and secure the funding that is necessary to make their projects a reality. Inspired by our motto Per Aspera Ad Astra, Astra Funding helps projects through adversity to achieve their goals.

What is crowdfunding?
Crowdfunding is a way to raise funds for a specific project or program that relies on the ability to rally a large group of supporters. Astra Funding highlights projects at Stevens that could benefit from the support of Stevens alumni, friends, faculty, staff and parents!
Why should I give to a Stevens' Crowdfunding project?
Your donation will go directly to the crowdfunding project you support. Stevens benefits from each gift not only by funding these causes, but also by increasing our donor participation rate, which positively impacts Stevens' national ranking.
Who can use the crowdfunding platform to raise money?
Current Stevens students, faculty and staff are invited to submit applications for their projects or campaigns to be listed on Astra Funding.
What if I want to make a recurring monthly donation?
Monthly donations are a great way to support Stevens! At this time, we are not able to process monthly donations through our Crowdfunding platform. If you are interested in making a monthly donation, please visit connect.stevens.edu/makeagift and select "monthly recurring gift" under the Additional Information section.
What if I want to make a multi-year pledge?
A multi-year pledge is another great way to support Stevens! You have the option of making annual payments towards a pledge for up to five years. If you are interested in setting up a multi-year pledge, please visit connect.stevens.edu/makeagift and select "annual pledge" under the Additional Information section.
Can I support a crowdfunding project by mail?
You can certainly support any of our Crowdfunding projects with a mailed in donation, just include the name of the project you wish to support with your check! If you do not want to be listed on our online donor wall, please make a note with your check that you wish to remain anonymous. Checks can be mailed to:

Yes, credit card donations are secure on this platform.
All donations made on the Astra Funding platform will be receipted by Stevens. You will receive an official, digital receipt for your gift within a few minutes.

Stevens Institute of Technology is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation. You will receive a receipt for your gift. Your gift qualifies for tax deduction in accordance with IRS regulations during the calendar year that you make your gift. Consult your tax professional for more information.
If so, and you made cash contributions to public charities (other than a donor-advised fund or supporting organization), remember that you can claim a deduction on your 2021 return. The limit is $300 for a single filer and $600 for a married couple filing jointly. The non-itemizer deduction will not be allowed after 2021 unless it is renewed.
